Support Bike Lanes on 38th Street

Minneapolis takes pride in its bike-friendly reputation. Increasing the number of bike lanes in the city makes biking accessible to more people, especially those who are not comfortable mixing with car traffic. Bikes reduce pollution and congestion, making the community better for everybody. By calming traffic and making movements predictable, bike lanes increase safety for bicyclists, drivers and pedestrians.
Adding bike lanes to 38th Street would be a huge asset to the Longfellow community. By connecting the Blue Line with the River, it would create an essential corridor for bicyclists, as there is currently no east-west bike route between the Greenway and Minnehaha Falls. Bike lanes would serve commuters, recreational cyclists, and those who want to connect to the businesses in the neighborhood.
We are local neighbors who support the planned bike lanes along 38th to calm traffic and make it safer for everyone using the street.
