The Point Grey Marina that could be built by an overseas company in the estuary of Mandurah is an issue. This is because the marina is effecting all of the wildlife in the area. It will affect them because there are hundreds of dolphins in the estuary and the increased number of boats can harm these dolphins as they could get hurt by the propellers. The migratory birds will also be affected by the marina as they like more quiet and natural environments.

The wetlands need to stay the same because we need the wetlands as they have many benefits. For example, the wetlands slow down the movement of incoming water which causes less floods, they improve the quality of the water by filtering the waste and pollutants, the conservation of biological diversity and provides habitats for animals that take shelter in the wetlands.

Another issue that arises from the Point Grey marina development is that it affects the fishing businesses. If the overseas company build the marina and dredge the water, most of the sea life will die because of the chemicals that will be released into the water in order for the boats to come past.

In conclusion to my petition, I have explained that the Point Grey marina development has to come to a halt. The reasons for why I believe that this needs to stop is because it causes many issues such as the wetlands are necessary for the protection from floods and it has many other benefits. another reason is that it affects the fishing businesses because the marina will eventually kill all of the fish
