Tonawanda Coke is appealing a cease and desist from the New York State DEC, due to their consistent illegal pollution that has contributed to poor air quality and health issues for surrounding communities in Tonawanda and Grand Island.  Since receiving the C&D, Tonawanda Coke has increased the output of their chemicals into the air. We take as evidence the many photos that nearby residents have taken of the smoke stacks.  We call on our representatives to halt all operations at the plant. We call on this for the health of our community.  How long must we continue to suffer?

We sign this petition to support that our representatives move the New York State DEC to issue a summary abatement order, requiring that the plant be shut down.
