Canberrans have had enough of anti-vaccine right wing protestors who have descended on Canberra and pose a significant risk to public health and safety.  They claim to be COVID freedom fighters.  

We support the Constitutional right to protest however these protestors continue to illegally camp on government and private land.  Local businesses are being forced to close due to verbal abuse to their staff trying to enforce mask mandates.  Far right wing members of the rally have been found to have started a fire leading to significant damage to Old Parliament House,  and another was found to have a loaded gun in his car.  

The protestors are blocking roads and refusing to adhere to social gathering limits and  mask wearing mandates increasing the risk of a further COVID outbreak.  

We demand that the ACT government and police take a far stronger approach to these "protestors", remove them from our city and prevent them from returning.
