Animals suffer horrendous travelling conditions, with many injured or trampled to death.  They can be in transit for days across Europe, crammed tight into lorries, suffering extremes of temperature and often without sufficient food, water or rest. Many die as a result. People who point to legal protection should realise that once these animals leave Europe they lose even that weak protection and face terrible abuse during transport and at the time of slaughter.

Many people have campaigned over the years to stop the export of live animals.  The UK Government have sympathised and then hidden behind EU legislation saying they are powerless to act.  Brexit will not stop the horrors of live transportation unless enough of us shout loudly enough.  And if UK politicians listen, what about Europe?

The EU Commission ignored a 1 million signature petition in 2012 - will they listen now? People are sick of living in a world where cruelty is okay providing there is money to be made.
