Tourism industry is the main source of income for 80% of the public in Andaman Islands and due to covid 19 lockdown the livelihood of the people are at stakes for almost a year the administration of the island have completely banned inter island travel for tourist, tourism attraction and activities are completely stoped, beaches are prohibited for both tourists and locals. 

Now when the active covid cases are less than 20 for about a month in the complete union territory and more than 60% of the population have been vaccinated with covidshield the administration can restart tourism but no such effort are made.

Another reason that the administration is listening to public is that Andaman and Nicobar Islands are completely without elected leaders the panchayat and the municipal elections which were due in 2020 are not conducted till this date and all the elected governing bodies are without public representatives.

This petition is for just for hotel and resort owners it for the lower workers the staff the drivers the shop owners the daily wages workers who are the edge of losing everything if the administration don't start tourism this year. The youger generation who just started their business have loans which are due as there is no source of income. They have lakhs of rupees in debt with no income.
