Reward Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige a star on the Walk of Fame.

The Issue

There are many guys in business and in the Hollywood industry that are still deserving of the huge legendary honor, but there is one man who is deserving of a Walk of Fame star as soon as possible. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has an unprecedented success under Marvel Studios and the Walt Disney Studios in Hollywood. Born in Boston, MA and raised in Westfield, New Jersey, Feige grew up as a pop culture geek and read so many comics that he started to have a passion about bringing his vision of comics to the big screen so that anyone can see what he had been dreaming that can be true. Hired in 2000 as a Marvel executive producer and becoming the head of the studio in 2007, he started developing his ideas to bring to life and continued to live up to the footsteps of famous Marvel writers Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. This man over 11 years kicked off a shared universe franchise the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the start of Iron Man(2008) with Robert Downey Jr. as the lead role which he was given universal praise for his portrayal and comeback to Hollywood following it with many standalone hero films such as Captain America, Thor, Hulk, etc. With all the standalone movies released, he managed to build it up to the start of an epic blockbuster which was anticipated for many generations. The Avengers(2012) was a film no one would thought be made and be able to pull off the spotlight to every Marvel character sharing the scene. The film grossed $1.519 billion and was critically acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. After the success of Marvel’s The Avengers(2012), Feige continued to be the president of Marvel Studios and produced more films such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Captain America Civil War, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man Homecoming, Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers Infinity War, Captain Marvel, and the latest blockbuster Avengers Endgame currently showing in theaters. Feige produced and collaborated on all 22 films in the MCU which is currently the highest grossing movie franchise in the Hollywood industry with a total gross of $21,186,289,415 and consecutive fresh Rotten Tomatoes score for all it’s movies where they all together possess an average score of 84%. The latest MCU blockbuster Avengers Endgame is the MCU’s best and left a legacy for the moments that were pulled off in the film. After 11 years of MCU memories, Feige was able to bring together many characters introduced so far into one scene in Endgame and conclude the Infinity Saga on a high note. Endgame wasn’t praised for being an epic blockbuster, it was praised for the messages of teamwork and was able to bring a satisfying end to the franchise people grew up watching for the past 11 years. Endgame is poised to be the highest grossing film since Avatar after 21 other films leading up to this moment. Thanks to the help along with casting director Sarah Finn, many of the actors in that franchise were positively praised for their portrayals as the heroes in the Marvel Universe. Feige not only should be honored for the milestone successes he had made at the box office, but honored as a kind man in this industry who believes representation matters and gives actors of minorities a chance to share the spotlight. Feige earlier this year was nominated for Best Picture at the 91st Academy Awards this year for his production of Black Panther whose lead T’Challa(Chadwick Boseman) is a black superhero. Black Panther not only got praise for demonstrating it’s representation for minorities on screen, but was honored for many other milestones. Black Panther didn’t win Best Picture but was nominated for six other awards and won in the following categories of Costume Design, Production Design, and Original Score. The film grossed $700 domestically and $1.3 billion and was a critically acclaimed success with American Film Institute named it one of 2018’s best movies. From there Feige started to focus on giving strong messages to the industry and give chances to bring more representation into the franchise. Lately, Feige produced the first MCU female led superhero film Captain Marvel in March of this year which was another box office hit over $1 billion and critically acclaimed despite audiences giving it mixed reviews. Critics these days might always put Superhero films at the top of the list, but Kevin Feige was able to exceed expectations and receive diverse praise for his films from critics and audiences alike. Every year, nominees are randomly selected to receive the honor upon being inducted onto the famous sidewalk. I hope the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce would soon accept Feige’s nomination due to the historical success he brought to a franchise in the making. Marvel has had a greatly successful few years so far and People from future generations will look back at his works and realize the huge legacy he had made upon Hollywood franchises. Stan Lee was honored in the past for his tremendous work in bringing together some of Pop Cultures best art. Kevin Feige had proved to demonstrate that he lives up to the same success as Stan Lee by adapting his work from the comics off the pages and onto the big screen. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, I hope you consider honoring Marvel Studios Kevin Feige for his work in bringing together a successful franchise in the making and leaving a legacy where his movies are given for a diverse audience to love and appreciate the work he has done for movie-goers and fans alike. Thank you for reading and as a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU) I can’t wait to see the milestone success Feige would be able to continue and get honored for.
