Councillor Ana Bailão: Stop the Junction Triangle Arby's

This petition had 34 supporters

Councillor Ana Bailão,

We, the residents of the Junction Triangle (recently voted "Toronto's Coolest Neighbourhood To Have A House In" in the new TORONTO LIFE) are appalled at the prospect of a new Big Arby's that is taking over space near Dupont and Campbell Ave.

Arby's has announced that they will be building one of their new Big Arby's outlets at this intersection. This Arby's is a whole city block in size, equal to about 98,000 square feet. The Big Arby's is too big and it is not a fit for the area.

As stakeholders in one of the city's most vibrant enclaves, we do NOT want Arby's delicious beef and cheddar sandwiches, their curly fries, or their horsey sauce in our neighbourhood. It could lower property values and attract unsavoury elements to the neighbourhood (i.e. Arby's patrons). We encourage you to review the proposal, sue Arby's, and get some better food options in the JCT. Preferably something that reflects our increasing property values, like a Quizno's or a Zaxby's. Does Toronto even HAVE a Zaxby's? This would be the first and would draw people from across town to the JCT to invest in the neighbourhood and see our coffee shops and condos and our new Shopper's.
