An Urgent Call for Democratic Transition in Iran

An Urgent Call for Democratic Transition in Iran
Le problème
A sharp decline of the national currency in Iran on top of decades of corruption, injustice and brutality, drove millions of Iranians to start protesting against the Islamic Republic regime in Iran on December 28, 2025. These peaceful demonstrations soon escalated into a bloodbath, where protesters were being shot in the head or heart with military-grade weapons on the street. Preventing the transfer of the wounded to the hospitals, the victims were stolen from the hospitals and shot dead before they got the chance to receive medical care. Moreover, on another shocking news, protesters have been infected with unknown chemical weapons. The protestors who survived the vile attacks were chased and their homes were invaded; mass arrests were carried out, and detainees were sentenced to execution without due processes, fair trial, or any judicial proceedings.
By January 25th, 2026, the regime's actions to contain the protests led to more than 36,500 people killed, 8,000+ people blinded, and 42,486 people detained according to news sources such as New York Post, Times Magazine and Iran International.
This information has been credibly sourced. However, the efforts of the regime were to keep the world and Iranian civilians in the dark by creating a full digital blackout in the country. The deliberate shutdown of the internet and all other methods of communication is being used as a tool for more suppression and massacre of innocent unarmed civilians preventing outside interventions.
The murders committed by the Islamic Republic regime throughout their reign, has not only affected the Iranian citizens inside Iran, but also Canadian-Iranians:
Zahra Kazemi in July 2003, the journalist who was brutally murdered for merely doing her job.
Ukrainian flight #752 shooting in January 2020, that cost the lives of 55 Canadians who were returning from their visits in Iran.
And most recently Meysam Hazimi, the father of two young daughters and the resident of Sherbrooke, QC.
And many more examples that would lengthen this petition, but not of less importance.
Considering the suffering this regime has caused nationally and internationally over the decades, and the risk of extreme and threatening ideologies being exported to Western countries, along with the recognition of the Iran revolutionary guard corps as a terrorist group organization and a major supporter of many other terrorist groups in the region, we would like to make a number of official requests that require intervention on a governmental level:
1- International support for a democratic transition, including recognition of Reza Pahlavi and his team as the legitimate leadership to engage internationally and facilitate Iran’s transition to a democratic government.
2- Immediate diplomatic measures, including the dismissal of Islamic Republic ambassadors and diplomats, preventing their return, and the closure of Islamic Republic embassies until a legitimate new government is established.
3-Maximum economic pressure, including the identification and freezing of all Islamic Republic and IRGC-linked assets within Canada and internationally, and holding officials legally and financially accountable for corruption and crimes against civilians.
