Elizabethton is spending money to revitalize its downtown by bringing in new bars and breweries and shops. All of which focuses on the entertainment of adults. The youth of this town deserve to also benefit from this revitalization project. What better way to do so then to build an outdoor roller skating rink open to the public. I’m an avid roller skater and was born and raised in the city of Elizabethton. I’ve longed all my life for this to become a reality. Skaters of all kinds know the feeling of being a bother when trying to skate on sidewalks and parking lots. As a kid We’d often get told to leave businesses when exploring places to skate. This would relieve others of what they see as a menace and give us skaters a place to congregate out of the way. It’s literally just a concrete slab that I’m asking for but it would mean the world to so many kids and adults. Skating is making a real comeback right now and I want Elizabethton, my homeland, to get in on this trend. I have many ideas for this project and I’d love a chance to share them with u all.
