The Issue

From Football Supporters Around the World
To the Leadership of FIFA,

We, football supporters from every corner of the world, believe that football is more than a sport. It is a universal language that unites people through fairness, respect, equality, and the spirit of competition.

This initiative was inspired by the worldwide discussion following the Egypt vs. Argentina Round of 16 match at the FIFA World Cup 2026. While that match sparked this initiative, our message extends far beyond a single game or a single national team. It is a call for greater transparency, consistency, and public confidence in football officiating and the implementation of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system across all FIFA competitions.

We do not question the integrity of referees, players, or participating teams, nor do we seek to alter the outcome of any match. Our objective is to encourage greater transparency and clear communication regarding significant refereeing decisions, helping to reinforce trust in the game for supporters around the world.

Our Principles
Football belongs to everyone.
Every team deserves to be judged by the same standards.
Transparency builds trust.
Accountability strengthens credibility.
Respect for referees and respect for supporters go hand in hand.
Our Requests
We respectfully call upon FIFA to:

Conduct independent technical reviews when significant refereeing controversies arise.
Publish clear technical explanations of significant refereeing decisions whenever appropriate.
Promote the consistent application of the VAR Protocol and the Laws of the Game across all competitions.
Continue improving refereeing standards through education, evaluation, and ongoing professional development.
Strengthen communication with the global football community to enhance confidence in the sport.
Our Message
Football is strongest when supporters believe that every match is officiated with fairness, consistency, and transparency.

Transparency does not weaken football—it strengthens it.

We are not against any nation, team, referee, or federation.

We stand for football.

We stand for fairness.

We stand for transparency.
