Why this petition matters

Started by james unkles

The allegation that former Senator Kimberley Kitching (dec) was wickedly harassed and abused by members of the Labor Party must be investigated by a Parliamentary Committee or an independent authority like the Australian Human Rights Commission which investigates complaints about discrimination and human rights breaches. If action is not taken by Labor or another authority, the allegation will remain buried for political expediency.

Senator Kitching's death has exposed a disgusting and unacceptable culture within Labor, how the party conducts its business and treats its party members, MPs and Senators.

While the pursuit of power is merciless and 'blood thirsty', the Kitching matter is a wakeup call for all sides of politics, that workplace abuse and harassment if proven is unacceptable.

Please sign the petition so we can tell politicians abusive conduct within their parties must stop.  All politicians must be held accoutable to the standards they expect the community to follow.

Send a strong message to Anthony Albanese, Scott Morrison, Adam Bandt and other party leaders that an independent inquiry must be held not only into the Kitching matter, but complaints of abuse within other parties.

The petition will be sent to registered political parties.
