Which bank is outrageous

Jason BryceWILLIAMSTOWN, Australia
Nov 3, 2026

Commonwealth Bank is closing numerous suburban branches, including my local branch in Williamstown, Victoria.

What is really outrageous is how Commonwealth Bank fobs off its' customers to the Post Office, a much smaller venue with fewer staff who are already busy.

"Are you ready to Bank@Post?" says the sign bluetacked to the door of Commonwealth Bank in Williamstown.

Commonwealth Bank are not showing respect for their customers (including passbook customers) and don't want to provide personal service to local businesses and residents.

That's why I'm calling this latest round of Commonwealth Bank branch closures "outrageous."

I've been able to find announcements about these CBA branches closing:

Williamstown VIC (closing November 2026)

Altona VIC (closing November 2026)

Altona North VIC (closing November 2026)

Lilydale VIC (closing November 2026)

Belmont VIC (closed in July 2026)

Lara VIC (closed in July 2026)

Mortdale NSW (closed October 2026)

Argyle St Camden NSW (closed August 2026)

Umina Beach NSW (closed August 2026)

Balmain NSW (closed March 2026)

Sandgate QLD (closing December 2026)

Do you know of other bank branches closing? Please let me know, send me an email: jason@cashwelcome.org

I don't get a chance to thank everyone who makes a donation. Usually I have no way of contacting them so THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make this campaign such a success.

Please help me continue to point out the obvious facts to the media and our politicians:

CASH is our LEGAL TENDER and must be accepted - and available - everywhere.

Cash is private, reliable and includes everyone.

More Australians are going back to using cash. More small businesses are accepting cash or preferring cash payments.

Yours sincerely,

Jason Bryce
