WW ARE LEADING the debate on cash, surcharges and our right to choose how we pay

Hi Freedom Lovers,

This group of people, this petition, this campaign is leading the debate on cash, card surcharging and our right to choose how we pay.

Maybe you've heard me on radio recently or seen a TV report about our campaign. There's plenty of media inquiries to deal with every day.

Here we are quoted by 7News on the new "Cash is King" bill. This is what I said:

Jason Bryce of advocacy group Cash Welcome said the Cash Is King bill will capture big retailers including Kmart, Chemist Warehouse, Bunnings, Tyrepower, KFC and McDonalds’.

“I’m hearing there’s now quite a few KFC outlets not accepting cash and that’s a real concern. The big end of town needs to be part of the cash mandate,” Bryce said.

“Government departments need to also accept cash, like councils and motor registries. It is our legal tender so government needs to be on board.

“The current cash mandate only applies to supermarkets and servos so it’s inadequate if the idea is to keep cash generally accepted and available in every community.”

Bryce said the bottom line should be that “everything needed in order to live should be payable in cash”.

Here we are quoted by 9News on Coles adding new restrictions on EFTPOS cash-outs:

Australian cash advocate Jason Bryce, who has been a long-time campaigner for cash use rights in Australia, has labelled the move “outrageous”.

He is fighting for greater cash access across the board and laments this move in the opposite direction.

“The big end of town need to actively support cash,” Bryce told nine.com.au.

“I realise in the end it’s the banks’ responsibility to provide access to cash but this cash-out only with a purchase is pretty low.

Here we are quoted by ABC WA on our right to pay with cash:

Campaigner Jason Bryce is calling for Australians to have the right to use cash when buying food and other essentials.

His petition for an Australian cash and banking guarantee has attracted more than 200,000 signatures, calling for better access to cash and full banking services.

Esperance's Pink Lake Butchers has switched off its EFTPOS terminal and gone cash only, a move Mr Bryce encouraged other small businesses to consider.

Mr Bryce said the cost of card payments was ultimately passed on to customers through prices.

"I think governments and big business have to accept cash," he said.

Here I am talking about cash-stuffing (saving money with physical notes) with Yahoo News:

"That is the future. We've got to cater for everybody, and that means payment choice," Finance journalist and pro-cash campaigner Jason Bryce added when speaking to Yahoo Finance.

We are fighting the big banks with their multi-million dollar budgets. Please make a small affordable contribution to Cash Welcome so I can continue to get our message in the media and in front of the politicians.

Please help me keep this campaign going. We are winning their war on our cash!

I don't get a chance to thank everyone who makes a donation. Usually I have no way of contacting them so THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make this campaign such a success.

Please help me continue to point out the obvious facts to the media and our politicians:

CASH is our LEGAL TENDER and must be accepted - and available - everywhere.

Cash is private, reliable and includes everyone.

More Australians are going back to using cash. More small businesses are accepting cash or preferring cash payments.

Yours sincerely,

Jason Bryce
