This issue is coming to a head. A senate inquiry is now underway looking into bank branch closures.

Last week, ANZ appeared before the senators and admitted they don't consult communities before closing their branches.

Westpac confirmed they are closing their Cloncurry branch, just as the senators met in Cloncurry to discuss bank closures.

Commonwealth Bank is continuing to close branches including its' Mordialloc branch (along with two ATMs) and NAB is taking cash out of branches.

Everyone needs cash and banking services even if they don't use cash or go to the bank every day.

Without cash, communities and local businesses can struggle to thrive.
