Revealed: banks confirm they want cashless towns:
“We are having conversations around how we transform their communities, and how do they become a cashless town,” the Westpac boss Chris de Bruin said.
Australian Financial Review (28/4/23).
Between January 2020 to October 2021, the Finance Sector Union found ANZ had closed 157 branches, more than CBA at 98, Westpac at 77 and NAB at 18. CBA and Westpac have paused additional branch closures during the period of the Senate committee inquiry.
The time to act is now. A senate committee is investigating these issues at the moment.
Please share our petition calling for a bank and cash guarantee to make our voice stronger so the politicians can't ignore us any longer.
Say NO to the cashless society they want to herd us toward. Cash is safe, private, reliable and surcharge-free.
Millions of Australians trust and rely on cash every day.
Banking services and cash are essential to keeping communities strong. Even if we don't need a bank branch or cash money everyday, we all need these things sometimes.
