We now have 350 signers to this petition. Our original thought was to send this petition to five JNUites from its first decade who are playing a significant role in the government or have retired but continue to have significant influence on policy makers. Those individuals are: Amitabh Kant (CEO, Niti Ayog), Syed Asif Ibrahim (Retired Chief of IB), Udit Raj (MP), S. Jaishankar (Retired Foreign Secretary) and Nirmala Sitharaman (Minister of Defense). We intend to expand that list to other JNUites in positions of influence. Based on suggestions received from many, we also plan to send copies of this petition to the President, Prime Minister and the HRD Minister.
