The Issue

I am 18, passionately building startups and addressing real-world problems, yet my future is unfairly judged by three-hour competitive exams. The Indian education system is rigid and outdated.

Many countries emphasize experiential learning and foster environments where creativity and innovation flourish.

Been there. Tried it. The IIT path. The Holy Grail - IITB, IITD, IITK and more storied institutions. the hyped-up news of huge crore-package placements, and ads of toppers of newspapers. But I would like to stop you for a moment. Alright, what's next? Start grinding again? For some mythical job package? For internships? Just to boost my resume? Where is the scope to follow my passion, build something, create impact?

Where are we? An overwhelming majority of Indian students spend their school years without crucial exposure to internships, research opportunities, or real-world problem-solving projects. Success metrics? Olympiads, boards and competitive exams. Fiercely competitive exams, with lakhs of students appearing across the country. If you fail, you are labeled a failure.

The current system has created a tunnel vision where society equates "success" almost exclusively with becoming a doctor or a computer science engineer. Simply put, this is narrow minded-thinking.

The admissions process in India for top institutions has been turned into a billion‑dollar coaching industry. Wouldn't you agree?

Applying educational reforms involving project-based learning, internships, mentorship programs, and creative thinking courses could provide a well-rounded education that equips students like us to tackle real-world challenges. Encouraging independent and critical thought, as well as exposure to diverse subjects, will prepare students for a future that values innovation over rote learning.

Join me in urging the Indian government and educational authorities to take immediate action in reforming our education system. Sign this petition to create a more dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking educational environment for the next generation of young entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers. Your signature can help spark a much-needed transformation that recognizes and nurtures every student's unique potential.

I am a teen. So are you. Your voice matters.
