/Almost all of us know of the tragedy of the horrendous murder of George Floyd. Mr. Floyd was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis Minnesota.

They have decided to charge the murderer with 3rd degree murder which carries a maximum penalty of  25 years. This is not justice. It is time that we make an example of what happens when someone takes a position of power and abuses that power. Just because this guy was an officer when he committed the murder should not grant him any kind of leniency. If anything it should be more of a reason to seek justice. To prove that no person in this country is above the law.

"Floyd, 46, died Monday in the city he moved to for a better life, his last moments caught on video. While being arrested, Floyd was held down by a Minneapolis police officer's knee. The video shows Floyd pleading that he is in pain and can't breathe. Then, his eyes shut and the pleas stop. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
That officer, Derek Chauvin, was arrested on Friday and faces charges of third-degree murder and manslaughter, according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman." -Excerpt from article by Alisha Ebrahimji of CNN on 5/29/2020 (full article here:

A man is dead over a $20 bill. All because a monster decided he wanted to become a police officer. This man is a murderer. There is evidence that he knew George Floyd from working with him as well. 3rd Degree Murder is NOT ENOUGH. Treat him like the sadistic man he is.

George Floyd deserves justice! His family deserves justice!! The people responsible for his murder need to be charged to the fullest extent of the law and the charges need to stick. There is no excuse or justification for the death of George Floyd. Sign this petition and lets help the District Attorney, the judges, the white house, and anyone else who will listen understand that GEORGE FLOYD DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE. Let's also show them that the monster who RUTHLESSLY MURDERED George Floyd deserves to be punished more than a maximum sentence of 40 years. That does not make up for even a fraction of the pain that he has caused. He doesn't deserve anything less than life in prison without parole. (Since Minnesota as a state abolished the death penalty in the early 1900's)

It is time for people to realize you cannot go into Law Enforcement on a power trip. You cannot take lives just because you think you can. You cannot get away with being a murderer with a badge. It is time that we start locking these people who give law enforcement a bad name away. It is time for us to start fighting back and getting the bad apples out of the bunch! It is time that we teach a lesson to the real "Thugs", the power hungry, murderous, psychopaths that get a badge and start killing our sons, fathers, husbands, and brothers!

Let me lay this out for you

3rd degree murder is recognized by 3 states in the United States. In Minnesota this charge carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison. This degree of murder is typically for when a death occurred, but it was unintentional.

All the requirements of 2nd degree murder were met. This could have been a solid choice of a charge for the sake of the weight of premeditation being considered for 1st degree. With that being said there have been people charged and convicted on 1st degree charges without a full blown "plan" to murder the person.

We cannot be convinced this was an accident. When a grown man is begging for his mother, urinated on himself, is bleeding, and loses consciousness there is no doubt that harm is occurring to a degree that could and did result in death. There is no justification. There is no way to say the officer "didn't mean to"

As a police officer there is a duty to protect the individuals in your custody. There is no officer training that involves kneeling on someones neck. George was handcuffed and was on the ground flat on his stomach. There was no justification. I cannot stress that enough. 3rd degree is gross injustice for the murder of George Floyd

Enter the second wind of this petition. We need to continue enforcing that these charges need to stick and the officers need to be convicted. The second part of the letter to the officials regarding this petition involves new laws regarding the handling of cases of brutality and murder under the color of law. There needs to be an example made, laws need to change, and the world needs to see that no longer will we allow people to get off just because of a technicality or their position of authority.

People in positions of authority should not be allowed to abuse that power. They are here to protect and serve and there is no reason that they should be above the law. They should be prosecuted in the same way and they should face charges without there being a debate on it. There should be harsher punishment for someone who has a legal obligation to protect individuals and fails to do so and even goes so far as being the cause of harm and the cause of death in these situations.

A murderer is a murderer and it does not matter what position they hold they should not be allowed to get by with just abusing and killing people.

Keep sharing and sign this petition to help bring about change that is needed so badly.
