Remove the rule stating livestock may not stay on fairgrounds longer than 72 hours.

Remove the rule stating livestock may not stay on fairgrounds longer than 72 hours.
The Issue
Many Fair boards have already proceeded with plans for a junior fair. Judges, officials, volunteers, etc. have been secured to safely and effectively run the shows. The newly announced 72 hour rule forces boards to completely revamp schedules and start from scratch. This, in turn, takes away from time and effort that could be spent on tasks that actually make a difference in fighting the spread of Coronavirus and keeping people safe, such as sanitation and social distancing protocols. The virus is not spread through animals, therefore the amount of time animals spend on the fairgrounds in a moot point. In addition, given the restrictions of no more than ten exhibitors in the show ring at one time, fairs with large numbers of livestock will not be able to complete weigh-ins, shows, showmanship and a sale within a 72 hour window. The whole idea is counterintuitive; by spreading events out, people are spread out. When events are crammed together due to time constraints, people will also be crammed together. Please reconsider and strike this rule from the mandatory county fair guidelines.
