I and many other people ride Amtrak's long distance trains. They are a more relaxed and slow paced way to travel, and see our beautiful country. Part of what makes rail travel so enjoyable is being able to have a sit down meal and enjoy the country. If you take this away on some trains, the point of spending more money and the travel time taking much longer all to experience rail travel becomes less of an urge for most customers. This could cause a decrease in ridership, which could cost taxpayers and Amtrak even more. On the Lake Shore Limited and Capital Limited trains Amtrak has cut costs and replaced a restaurant style service with a bland boxed meal that's cold (only for sleeping car passengers as well, coach passengers are stuck with the Café car.) So please sign this to help encourage Amtrak to bring back this great aspect of the Lake Shore and Capital Limiteds.
