Quite simply women should have the right to choose how and where they give birth. 'The freedom in a country can be measured by the freedom of birth' (Agnes Gereb, currently serving a jail sentence for assisting women in Hungary to give birth at home) Midwives are being persecuted in numerous European countries including Hungary, Lithuania & Czech Republic and Amnesty International Europe are yet to intervene. Please sign this petition to urge Amnesty to get involved and defend these women who are being prosecuted purely for doing their job: helping women give birth.
