We the undersigned object to the current issue affecting Holmes Beach Florida and the displacement of the workers who have given decades to our city. Many of us are shocked that the faces we have grown to know over the decades are being so frivolously discarded without sufficient cause or compensation. We the people of Holmes Beach, and the surrounding islands request, via this petition, that unless just cause is shown for such dismissal, that these veterans and historic symbols of our City are recognized and reinstated. We also request recognition of the dedication they have successfully demonstrated to make Holmes Beach the beautiful place it is, in turn, being vastly responsible for the booming tourism and the economic profit which has resulted from their hard, and now unappreciated, commitment to your city, our city. We the undersigned have all made our mark on this island in order to make it what it is. Our founding fathers, our fathers and mothers, we ourselves, and our children will be here to continue to preserve the community, and family that cannot be disrupted or disbanded by any government official, whether they have roots here or not. Just as none of us would allow each other to do the same. We respectfully request the reinstatement of any terminated city employees that do not have histories of disciplinary action that would justify the removal of individuals with 30 plus years of service to our Island.
