Lower the cost of neutering and spaying dogs

Lower the cost of neutering and spaying dogs
The Issue
The dog population is rapidly rising. There are approximately 75 million dogs in the United states and out of those, 45-50 million are strays. There are just not enough homes to go around for each dog, so many dogs are ending up on the street without a home and a loving family. If more people neuter and spay their dog, there would be more homes to go around, but the cost of doing the surgery is crazy expensive and some people can not afford it. Some veternarians might charge more than $300 for the surgery, however, there are many benefits to the surgery that can help your dog. Neutering dogs can help prevent certain types of cancers, uterine infections, and breast tumors. A common cancer for dogs that have not been neutered is testicular cancer. This can cause behavioral change as well. Sometimes male dogs like to wander off because they have an urge to find their mate. So if the American Veterinary Medical Association minimize the maximum cost of spaying and neutering a dog to $140, many people will be more open to doing the surgery, which means that more dogs will experience the warmth feeling of love and family and a more secure and healthy life.
