For starters, there is diversity in the current American Girl Doll collection, however not much. The dolls like Addy, Kaya, and Melody have not seen recent updates to their collection. There are many more light-skinned dolls in the truly me line than darker dolls.

A while back, Cécile Rey was retired from the American Girl Doll collection. However, that decision was not favored by many. She is a beautiful doll with a very interesting, unique story. Especially with the #BLM movement on the rise, it is important to embrace racial diversity. A great step forward would be to re-introduce Cécile. Many would like her back, and her collection.
