We, the members of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the community, are demanding change. We appreciate ASHA for listening to its members and writing a new statement on racism. However, with no action plan, it is only words. Below is a list of our demands to increase cultural sensitivity. 

*This petitions is not limited  to ASHA members, as our services enhance the lives of everyone. The voice of students, patients/clients, families, and other professionals, all deserve to be heard. 1. Every ASHA member will receive via email the statement on racism and police brutality and it will be posted on ASHA home page 

2. Mandatory diversity CEU requirement (similar to mandatory ethics CEU requirement) 
3. More CEUs on diversity/multicultural issues on ASHA Learning Pass
4. Push for graduate schools to have requirements to enroll a more diverse class 
5.  Easily accessible, FREE, resources on ASHA website on how to serve minorities 
6.  Mandatory classes in undergraduate and graduate studies on diversity and multi-cultural awareness and issues to maintain accreditation
