TODAY WE CAN DECLARE VICTORY, EVEN AS REPUDIATING TRUMP MOVES INTO A NEW PHASE

Dear fellow signatories to the Declaration Repudiating Trump and Trumpism, Today, we can declare victory. This is a triumphant day for us and for all the good and decent people of our United States of America. We have persevered these past four years through some very dark days and restive nights. Today Donald Trump is gone – banished to infamy – and so are so many of his enablers.

This is only a partial victory, however, and there is so much still to be done in repudiating trumpism. We will stand behind our new President and Vice President and support the work of our duly elected leaders who are driven by goodness, by good intentions, and by goodwill. That is the positive part of what we must do.

But there also lingers an unfortunate part. That is because Donald Trump, his family, and his other enablers have not yet been held accountable and there can be no true unity and national healing until there will be a reckoning for the wrongs of these past four years and justice will be duly served.

That is why today I have launched a new petition at change.org calling upon federal and state law enforcement and justice administration officials, among others, to investigate the crimes of Donald Trump, his family and enablers and to prosecute as appropriate in the interest of justice and national healing (https://www.change.org/HoldingDonaldTrumpToAccount Please take a few minutes to click on the link to our new petition, to sign, and to share this petition with your like-minded friends.

I want you to know that I will continue to manage the Declaration Repudiating Trump and Trumpism Facebook page as a forum and information source. I look forward to making it a more uplifting resource as the work of repudiation also turns to supporting and furthering the positive efforts and priorities that have in these past four years been hindered and blocked.
