Letter added to our Declaration at change.org

Dear signatories and supporters, I have just added the following letter as a supporting document to our Declaration repudiating Trump and Trumpism at change.org. I encourage you to share it with others. Our fellow Americans: To reject as our legitimate president a person who has emerged from the electoral process is not something we do or take lightly. We must not. This is a matter of the gravest importance for our country and indeed for the entire world. We take this step of repudiation not out of malice or disappointment or even common political differences. We do so very deliberately after giving this weighty concern the somber consideration it is due. The reasons for attaching our names to this Declaration repudiating Trump and Trumpism are spelled out in that document. We encourage you to read the Declaration, to reflect upon it, and to consider whether it reflects your views and your conviction. If yes, we encourage you to join us as signatories. If the Declaration does reflect your views but you feel for reasons of your own that you cannot sign, we accept that and we encourage you to find other ways to support its aims. We urge all of you to engage in continuous and constructive opposition to the various evils and regressive schemes, tactics and attitudes that Trump and Trumpism embody and promote. Thank you
