Occupational Therapy Level II Students to take the NBCOT early

The Issue

I am writing to allow occupational therapy/occupational therapy assistant level II students who have been displaced during their education to take the National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Many healthcare students have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and are making strides to help their students successfully graduate. Occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students are not able to finish their level II fieldwork due to site closures, and therefore cannot graduate. We are asking for AOTA and NBCOT board of directors to allow us to take our national board exam, as we have already obtained our academic education to become occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants.
