This petition was started as a result of a dispersal auction of 100 purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs. There are more to come. That is a huge number of dogs of a single breed. These dogs were infested with fleas, feces, internal and external parasites and other matter packed in and living in cages, 24/7 - Dogs living in trailers, without heat or air conditioning. Dogs that were blind and deaf. Some dogs were pregnant and delivering at the auction site. It brought to light the terrible conditions and suffering of dogs sold at auction.
It is time to stand up and support the AKC mission. Your signature means that one less dog from an auction won’t be bred in accordance with the AKC mission. The AKC registration will continue to be the Gold Seal of Approval for dogs.
