I am a Medical Assistant and I feel that medical assistants should be recognized as  medical professionals. I work in a private doctors office where there are only medical assistants and doctors. I work the front office, and am one of many who risk being exposed to covid-19 on a daily basis. Medical Assistants are just as important as nurses and other medical professionals. Most Medical Assistants complete a medical assisting program accredited by an accrediting body that is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), pass a certification test, and then go on to join the  (AAMA) in which the credentials represents a medical assistant who has been certified by the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants or (ARMA) American Association of Medical Assistants.
