For Years, American girl has produced many of different characterized dolls with different backgrounds whether they were a part of the Girl of the Year line or the Be Forever line or better known as to some people, The Historical Doll Line, but what if, with enough support, American girl produced a characterized doll that had a disability called Autism? Would you like to see it? For me, it would because it would create more awareness, and create more diversity for customers to look at, choose and see. Here’s why I say that
Now first things first, for those who might not know what Autism is, here’s a definition, it is a developmental disorder that is characterized by difficulties with social interaction and communication, along with identification of restricted and repetitive behavior. Ok now, let me explain why this doll idea would be a good idea.
Firstly, If American girl created an American girl doll with autism, that it can make even more awareness as my first reason for this. How? Well, by the story, if the doll was created with a story about her and some accessories with it, too, imagine the possibilities. I believe that if the doll were created, and people saw the book, that they might research and become aware. By people seeing that book, or reading the catalogue description, if it were added in there, the more people would research about it and more. Creating more awareness about the disorder and having more people become aware.
Secondly, it can give more diversity in American girl dolls, for customers (new or loyal) more choices to look at, and see. American Girl has diversity in all their dolls, they produce, from the background stories to the doll’s design. So, if they made an American girl with Autism that would mean more diversity to where they could bring in more customers. With an Autism doll, maybe it could give loyal customers, more choices to choose and look at, when looking in the catalogues. Overall, maybe with the doll produced, and made, the more diversity can help American girl with customers.
