How does your daughter feel knowing the highly publicized and anticipated Doll of the Year does not look like her??  

Show African-American/Black girls they are equal on all levels.  Show them their brown skin is beautiful.  They need to know they are important too.  These girls collect dolls just like everyone else.  We as parents spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on the dolls and accessories, just like everyone else.  So, why hasn't American Girl released a Doll of the Year that looks like us?

American Girl has produced Marisol (Hispanic), Jess (Pacific Islander), and Sonali (Indian).  While it may seem this company has checked the box on their ethnic list, a doll of color has yet to hold the title as Doll of the Year. 

Let's demand change! 

Let's show our daughters they matter!

Let's see that Beautiful Brown Skin.
