The American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, NJ charges people $5 to park for the day after a half hour of free parking (was changed from an hour).

This is the only mall in this area that charges for parking other than the Newburgh Mall in Jersey City. That makes no sense either. Other megamalls that offer free parking include the Mall of America in Minnesota (also owned by Triple Five, no less) and the Palisades Center in West Nyack, NY. 

The American Dream could not even make its most recent bond payment. I believe the parking fee is one factor that keeps people from visiting. Less people visiting the mall = less revenue.

I believe the American Dream has the potential to succeed if it makes this one minor change. If they keep these parking rates or increase them, then they will continue to have issues attracting visitors/customers. Please sign and spread the word for this petition.
