This petition is in response to the following news article, which says that the new American Dream Mall in the Meadowlands, NJ will now include a "garden equipped with birds and rabbit fields" as part of their "Instagrammable concepts". The mall is now scheduled to open in Fall 2019.

I do not think American Dream should be exploiting live animals for shoppers and tourists. See the article here:

I am very concerned about these "rabbit fields" that will be built into the new mall. Who will be responsible for caring for the birds and rabbits? What kind of enclosure will they be kept in? Will shoppers be allowed to interact with live animals? The whole idea is very questionable, and should not come to fruition. 

As an animal lover, rabbit owner, and member of the House Rabbit Society, I am extremely concerned. I cannot imagine any scenario where live animals would thrive living in a mall. Please sign the petition and spread the word to stop American Dream from following through with the "rabbit fields".
