Airlines Should Allow Pets to Fly in the Cabin with Their Families
The Issue
Dogs (and cats) are required to travel in the baggage hold of airplanes ... subject to changes in temperature, air pressure, and personnel mismanagement, not to mention the fear they feel when being separated from their human family members. While most airlines offer an option to allow (very small) pets to fly in the cabin if they can fit in tiny, prescribed carriers that fit under the seats, relatively few pets qualify for this option and added expense. It's time for airlines to allow people to purchase an adjacent seat (or seats) at the same rate they're paying for their own seats, where their furry family families can fit in a larger crate specifically designed for a pet's health, comfort, and safety.
