Amendment of the PCA act 1960

Amendment of the PCA act 1960
The Issue
At present, the PCA (Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Act of 1960 in India is grossly inadequate, with minimal penalties for offenders. For over half a century, the sanctions under this act have stood unchanged between Rs 10 to Rs 50 for first-time offenders, and merely Rs 100 for repeat offenders. The penalties have, proved impotent in preventing incidents of animal cruelty and have not been revised even after 60 years, despite multiple proposal submissions to strengthen the Act's deterrent effect. We firmly believe in dignifying every life form and consider it our moral and ethical responsibility to safeguard our fellow creatures. We advocate for immediate and significant revisions in the PCA Act of 1960 to ensure adequate punishments levied on persons involved in animal cruelty. Furthermore, we advocate for more substantial resources to be allocated to the enforcement and education about these rules. With a more effective PCA Act, we can better protect our animals and ensure they are treated with the respect and care they deserve. Support the call for change by signing this petition today.
