Amend rabies revaccination laws to include titer testing

Amend rabies revaccination laws to include titer testing
The Issue
Many of us love our dogs like family and have special needs pets that require extra consideration. As a dog owner who believes in doing better for our furry companions, I am passionate about tackling the problem of overvaccination, particularly when it comes to rabies.
Current laws mandate rabies revaccinations without considering alternatives that could be more suitable for some pets. This often results in undue stress and potential health risks for our beloved dogs. We shouldn't be forced to vaccinate without considering other options—just as we strive for the best choices for our children, we should do the same for our pets.
Rabies titer testing provides a scientifically backed method to check the immunity of a pet against rabies, reducing unnecessary vaccinations. Many countries have already implemented titer testing as a standard practice, proving its reliability and effectiveness. Titer testing not only protects the health of our pets by preventing overvaccination but also conserves resources and reduces medical expenses for pet owners.
Our initiative seeks to amend existing rabies revaccination laws to integrate titer testing as a viable alternative. By doing so, we will help ensure that pets who are adequately protected are not subjected to redundant vaccinations. Our goal is to achieve these changes by 2026, supporting safer and more personalized veterinary practices.
We have established a group dedicated to discussing and promoting this movement, and we urge lawmakers and pet owners alike to join us in this cause. Together, we can enact change that prioritizes the health and safety of our cherished pets.
Please sign this petition to support the amendment of rabies revaccination laws to include titer testing and protect our pets better.
