Amend Overnight Pet Sitter Policy at 45 Tudor City Place
The Issue
To: Board of Directors, Prospect Owners Corp
Date: June 1, 2025
We, the undersigned shareholders of Prospect Owners Corp., formally request a review and amendment of the current policy that restricts overnight pet sitters from staying in apartments while shareholders are on vacation or otherwise temporarily absent.
As residents in a pet-friendly co-op, we believe this restriction is unnecessarily burdensome to responsible pet owners and limits our ability to provide proper care for our pets. Many co-ops allow professional or trusted individuals to care for pets overnight, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being in the owner's absence. The current policy forces pet owners into costly and less effective alternatives, such as boarding facilities, which may not align with the best interests of our pets or our personal circumstances.
Requested Action
We respectfully petition the Board of Directors to:
1. Reconsider the overnight pet sitter restriction and allow reasonable accommodations for pet sitters to stay overnight when needed.
2. Implement reasonable guidelines such as prior notification, short-term occupancy limits, or verification of responsible pet sitters, instead of a complete prohibition.
3.Provide shareholders with an opportunity to discuss this matter at an upcoming board meeting or special meeting if necessary.
