Homelessness is at its all time high 

We are losing elderly people dying in their cars due to this emergency housing crisis and the way the economy is. A disability pensioner left with just over $100 to pay all bills and shop and run a car and get medications is not possible no matter how hard you stretch the budget. This is indignifying and unjust.

Our loved ones are suffering, land owners want to help out our loved ones.

We can take troubling economic and housing times and bring our families and communities closer togeth

At present the council laws and regulations only allow a permit of 12 to 18 months to stay in  a caravan or granny flat on private land. This legality needs to be amended to be able to keep families together. For example a single woman on disability has a neurodivergent adult child who need space to calm themselves or even to feel semi independant, with laws lifted from our council members, the ladies neurodivergent children are able to continue living in unity with parent and still have connections with therapy to assist in a better quality of life 

Another example is if someone purchased a house and needded to care for their eldrely parent agranny flat on their land would be ideal convenience for safety and sense of peace for the familiy as they stay united. This will lessen the amount of elderly people needed to go to nursing homes and this gives the elderly a true sense of support and dignity.

These Council laws were made pre covid years 

We have lost so many lives due to covid now the rent, food, absolutely every product  is at a all time cost now making it extremely hard to make ends meet. This is exhausting our emergency relief charities.

Its time to update these  laws to bring them aligned with 21st century and to allow families to stay together.

Recently Ipswich hospital stated there was no emergency housing left. Contact police if you need any further assistance with housing. This is of an epidemic proportion and unsafe for people of all ages.

These council laws and regulations have been made pre covid times and now we are in dire need to house the homeless and feed the homeless and clothe the homeless. We with the Council help can make a difference Bringinging families together.

Lets make housing and homelessness a state of emergency and AMEND update the council laws and regulations to allow people to live in caravans/granny flats in there backyards on their own properties. This will allow people safety network and lessen the homelessness epidemic.

These amended council laws will allow the people who worked hard to get our country to where it is today the elderly, a warm bed with a warm meal and warm clothes with dignity and respect as they deserve.

Our law states a childs safety is paramount 

"CHILD PROTECTION ACT 1999"

"WE ARE ALL SOMEONE'S CHILD"

So please amend these laws in our councils to coincide with our child safety law so our children of yesteryear and present children and children of the future are housed safe  warm and  protected 

PLEASE SIGN TO REINSTATE IPSWICH CITY COUNCIL LAWS AND REGULATIONS AND NATIONALLY  ASAP ALLOWING PEOPLE TO LIVE IN  CARAVANS AND GRANNYFLATS IN BACKYARDS TO COMBAT THE EPIDEMIC OF HOMELESSNESS
