I am standing up today, not out of obligation, but out of a strong sense of duty. I am driven by a purpose that transcends my own needs. It is my arduous task and divine calling to instigate changes that safeguard our children better. Our laws on child sexual abuse need a significant overhaul, now. As it stands, a first-time offence attracts a punishment that is shamefully lenient.

DID YOU KNOW? That child abusers are more likely to re-offend, than any other type of offender. Child abusers are also the hardest criminals to rehabilitate. 

DID YOU KNOW? In the United States of America, registered sex offenders are listed on a map with their name and address. So you know who is a predator. its free information anyone can access. Some states go as far to list their employment status and location. In Canada you see a dot on a map. You are not told any other information. We respect the privacy of a paedophile more than we respect the ideology of keeping our kids safe from predators. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!

 CHANGE IS COMING! TO ACHIEVE THIS, WE MUST WORK TOGETHER AS A UNIT!

In Canada you get more time for abusing an animal than you do for abusing a child, on a first offence ( meaning the first time someone commits that type of crime. Currently you receive a minimum of  1 year for sexual interference of a minor. Most people get the minimum on a first offence. 

In Canada one in ten girls is sexually abused before the age of 16. Which is quite high ( Most child sexual abuse goes unreported )

Research has strongly established that the effects of child sexual abuse can last for years. Aggression,
hyperactivity, sexual acting out, depression, anxiety, isolation, self-harm, and PTSD are common
outcomes for children following sexual abuse. These negative outcomes can continue into adulthood in
the form of addictions, mental illness, and self harming behaviours.

For the safety of our children, I implore the lawmakers of Canada to introduce stringent laws that reflect the gravity of such heinous actions. I propose a first offense to carry a mandatory minimum sentence of five years. No plea for leniency, no excuse should diminish the severity of the punishment..

The definition of the word minor needs to be revised. There should be a junior, intermediate and senior level in the term minor. Molesting and raping a 3 month old baby ( YES THIS DOES HAPPEN. Go to any law library and pull cases and see how dark these people are. All legal cases are public record). It is a lot more severe than abusing a pre-teen. Both are absolutely disgusting but we need to rationally accept it's not the same. 

We need a better Sex register reporting system. Seeing a dot on a map is just not enough information for parents to protect our kids from these predators. We need to see either names or addresses. We should not be more concerned with protecting paedophiles than we are with protecting innocent children. Child sexual abuse destroys parts of a child's soul. Steals their innocence and replaces it with the worst trauma that human beings experience. 

I will sit anywhere I am allowed ( in front of malls, the library, set up a table in busy parks, etc) asking people to sign my petition. informing and explaining what I am doing. I will walk from one coast of Canada to the other, getting as many signatures as I can.  hopefully others will join me and more people are going out collecting signatures. I will try to get the media to cover this story. So we can spread the MSG further, quicker. 

I will have community town halls, So we can discuss, develop and create New Laws. That we all agree will protect children. Every and any Canadian who cares or has input. Will be heard. This is not a one man job. Its gotta be a TEAM EFFORT!

After I collect all the signatures I need ( if it takes 20 years, sooo be it! NOTHING in this world could stop me. 

Finally, we will march to the parliament hill! we will hold rallies. We will make it clear that we are not leaving until our petition is honoured and we are promised the laws will be changed and our demands will be met. We will not back down, these politicians should have done this years ago! We need to clean the house, not just Justin has to go! There are PLENTY more politicians who do not give a damn about the people or the children. They are politicians  for the prestige and the money.  They are parasites, slowly killing Canada. Clean sweep of the board! 

Once we have the first changes, collectively we will decide what the next issue we want to tackle. We as parents need to come together as one unit. United we can conquer anything. We can be a force to be reckoned  with. We can start focusing on saving the kids all around the world. Coming up with new and innovative ways to protect our children, change the laws to protect children and penalise the predators. In some southern states in America, you get 50 plus years for any and all forms of child sexual abuse.

I stand here with a mountain to climb, but I am committed to advocating for this cause till the end. This mission is personal and arduous, but I will fight against the current system, irrespective of how challenging it gets. This is not merely a law reform; it’s a battle for our children’s safety.
