Ambulance crews are there when we need them... now they need our help...
The Issue
Ambulance crews in the East of England Ambulance Service are struggling to cope.
14 or 15 hour shifts are common and one crew recently worked a 20.5 hour shift.
Crews are entitled to a 45 minute meal break, they routinely only get 30 minutes.
UNISON has been campaigning for over 12 months for supportive changes.
The Ambulance Service is not listening.
UNISON is campaigning for a 45 minute meal break, an additional 20 minute rest break and measures to ensure crews travelling back to their base station at the end of their shift, who will already incur a late finish, are only asked to attend the highest category of calls, if they’re the nearest vehicle.
Please sign this epetition and help us send a clear message to the Ambulance trust: value and protect our Ambulance crews.
