PORT RICHEY, Florida TO REMAIN INCORPORATED - STOP Mariano/Hooper Initiative

PORT RICHEY, Florida TO REMAIN INCORPORATED - STOP Mariano/Hooper Initiative

The Issue

We demand that the initiative and current actions by Amber Mariano and Ed Hooper for the dissolution of the City of Port Richey cease.

Florida State Representative Amber Mariano and State Senator Ed Hooper have made public notice by newspaper, news media and media release, that they intend to take before the Florida House their proposal to dissolve the Incorporated City of Port Richey and turn all Port Richey lands over to the county of Pasco, Florida.  Amber Mariano has stated opinions and not facts in her press release and interviews as to the City of Port Richey's Current Status, Finances, and City Management.

This attempt to dissolve the city has been initiated without conversations, meetings or workshops with the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, City Workers, Port Richey Police, Port Richey Fire, City Residents or City Business Owners.  Neither Amber Mariano nor Ed Hooper have attended any functions relating to the City of Port Richey.

Prior attempts to dissolve the city were taken before the voters twice before and the citizens answered loud and clear.  Port Richey Residents not want to unincorporate Port Richey nor do we want to become part of the county.

Please sign this petition to keep local government local and Port Richey Incorporated as it has been since 1925.
