Make urgent changes to the return system currently in place for ebooks.

Amazon's seven day return policy should not pertain to ebooks. Too often, authors are slammed with excessive returns by readers who use the policy to treat purchases as library loans instead of buying books. Frankly, there is little reason to ever return an ebook. A large sample is available for reading before buying, plus with book blurbs, a purchaser knows well before time what they are getting. You wouldn't go to a movie, watch the entire thing, then demand a refund because you didn't like it! Authors work extremely hard to write these book and the selling of books not only provides household money, but covers overhead costs associated with printing, giveaways, promotions, etc. Truth be known, many authors don't make nearly as much as people assume. It is our feeling that Amazon should support these hard-working authors instead of these customers who feel it is okay to abuse a very lenient return policy. It's hard enough for us authors to constantly fight against piracy sites, but to have to stand up against one of our allies is wrong. Please make your guidelines stricter for ebook returns. We'd hate to have to sell paperbacks only, but that is what it may come to if there is no guarantee that our hard work won't be pushed out by nothing more than a glorified library. Authors, readers, and anyone who supports the arts should sign this petition. Thank you.
