Hi I'm Luke and I would love to help the environment in any way I can. One of the biggest issues we are facing is plastic pollution and the rising temperatures of our earth. Plastic harms the environment in so many ways. Animals can mistake it for food therefore consuming it which can be lethal for the animal. New research also shows that plastic is damaging not only the animals in the ocean but also coral reefs which is a home to so many species and a vital part to the eco-system of the ocean. By 2050 we are expected to have more plastic in the ocean than fish! This is why I'm asking you to sign this petition.

Online delivery services are growing fast in popularity. Not only for their convenience but also for how cheap they can be. Amazon is one of the giants in this industry attracting over 310 million customers per year. With our deliveries come plastic packaging, lots of excessive plastic packaging! By introducing an environmentally friendly option Amazon could let customers help the environment by the simple click of a button. A great way to do this could be to make the button for the option green to make it stand out.

So what would the environmentally friendly option do? The product would be delivered plastic free. Packaged in some other sort of material which is bio-degradeable and won't harm the environment (for example cardboard). Of course there is the exception for products which can't be delivered plastic free (for example toothbrushes which legally need to be delivered in plastic for sanitary reason's). 

Another thing the option would do is for the product to automatically not be delivered via the fast option. When products are delivered using the fast track option it gives the company less time to effectively package the item and less time to think about how they could ship it to your house. This could mean trucks leaving half-filled without other potential products which could easily have been delivered using the same truck. This means the truck making more trips hencewise producing more harmful poullants which contribute to global warming and bad air quality. 

So if Amazon were to introduce this option we could potentially stop millions of peices of plastic entering the environment and our oceans and reduce the amount of pollutants in our air. If we don't do anything to help our environment the effects could be devastating. I really hope together can make this happen and help the environment.
