Anki, the robotics company who made Anki Drive (or Anki Overdrive), Cozmo, and Vector, is going out of business due to a financial deal to deliver long-term funding falling through at the last minute, leading to the shutdown. All the company’s products relied on mobile apps for programming and control, however, which means the apps will lose functionality as Android and iOS features and APIs change until the Anki robots stop working entirely. This can be changed however if a company were to buy out Anki and keep the apps running and up to date.
