Amazon DLS policy change

The Issue

        Across America amazon policies and procedures regarding people with disabilities requesting reasonable accommodations Unfair and discriminatory in nature. The objective of this petition with the support of all that sign is to shine a light on the discriminatory practices of amazon.

        The process in place for employees to get accommodations at work is long and can take upwards of a year but in that time some have been fired or could not take the constant anguish and emotional struggles caused by something that is supposed to help people. I personally had sent in accommodations by my doctor and took over a year to get someone who would listen to what I had to say and still I am going back and fourth. I started the process in February of 2021 it is now august of 2022 and there is still a barrier in place to prolong the process.

        I believe along with others this is just another practice they put into place to do just what I explained above prolong the process. They do not want to accommodate people just enough to make it look like they do. The process as specified by the ADA is supposed to be an interactive process between the employee and employer that is not the case at amazon. I personally went 6 months with out even a word from them after calling the 1800 number over 100 times, to no resolve.

        What we as human beings are asking for is the opportunity to work just like everyone else and be accommodated in a way that allows that. We want amazon to look at the process in place and change it in a way that works for everyone and make it easier to navigate. Please sign this petition so that we can show amazon that we matter and we deserve to be able to work with out constant stress of losing our jobs due to a mental illness or physical.
