How big a problem plastic waste is cannot be emphasized enough, especially  in a country like India where waste management is dismal. A gigantic addition is being made to this problem by the packaging material that E-commerce companies use. We can be responsible consumers by demanding not only action under the Waste Management Rules (2016) but also complete replacement of plastics with other environmental friendly packaging material. It's Iargely the urban middle class that is making use of E-com websites and also has a presence online to influence the action these companies take. 

We are simply drowning in plastic waste. It's time action is taken
