Shelfari is a wonderful place that encourages young people to read as well as make friends all around the world and create wonderful memories by participating in written role-plays and other such activities. I have made many wonderful friends on Shelfari that I will keep forever and I know that others feel the same way. Shelfari also helped me out of a deep depression and without it my friends and I would not be the people that we are today. This website has shaped us and taught us many wonderful things, helping us to grow both as readers and writers.

I have started this petition because news that Amazon wishes to shut down this wonderful website is circulating around the internet. If they do this, many youths will be deprived of a wonderful place where they can learn and make lifelong friends.
