Petition to Amazon.com to Stop Using Plastic in Shipping Boxes

The Issue

Plastics never go away. Trash from plastics invades our communities, neighborhoods, parks, beaches, and cities. Plastic can only be recycled once before it must be throw away with other trash and ending up in a landfill.

Amazon.com ships over 3 billion boxes every day. Most (if not all) of these boxes have plastic air pillows in them to take up space and keep items from shifting around. They do a good job keeping things in place but with the volume of shipment it adds up to much plastic waste in astronomic proportions daily.

Amazon is a growing company. They are doing well and continue to get bigger and bigger every year. They have an amazing business model and are leaders in their industry. I am petitioning them to stop using any and all plastic in their shipping packaging and find something that is biodegradable instead so that our plastic problem and dependency can start to shrink instead of grow. Amazon, please be a leader in helping stop our reliance on plastics.
